Obituary of Lois H. Houle

Lois H. Houle, age 87 of North Lawrence New York passed away at the Massena Memorial Hospital on Thursday evening, February 16, 2017. Born in North Lawrence, New York., on February 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Maritta,Richardson Thomas. She attended and graduated from local schools. Lois worked for Tru-Stitch in Malone during the 1960’s and drove bus for St. Lawrence Central for over 20 years until she retired in 1991. After her retirement she volunteered her bus driving skills to the Brushton - Moira Senior Citizens Group. She was a parishioner of Nicholville Methodist Church and was a member of the North Lawrence Grange for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Hillcrest Cemetery Association. Lois loved talking on the phone with family and friends. She loved flowers and she especially loved her cats. Lois is survived by two sons and a daughter in law; Thomas Houle of Conklin, NY., and William and Ruthanne Houle of Massena, NY., two brothers; Willis “Willie” Thomas and his companion Gloria Brean of North Lawrence, NY., and Robert Thomas of Chitteago, NY. She is also survived by four grandchildren. A Funeral service and burial will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the Tri-Town Rescue Squad.
