Obituary of Isabella C. McGinnis

Isabella C. McGinnis, 96, of Malone, NY., passed away Thursday night, February 22, 2018, at the St. Regis Nursing Home, in Massena, NY. She had been a resident there since March 16, 2012.

Born in Brooklyn, NY., February 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Alessi Catanzaro. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn and attended two years of art school.

She was united in marriage to Frank B. McGinnis in Brooklyn, NY. He predeceased her on June 16, 1980.

Isabella was a secretary for Dr. Friedgood in Brooklyn, NY., for many years.

She was a member of the Art Student League. She enjoyed sewing, going out to eat with her friends, oil painting portraits and landscapes, collecting butterflies and attending the ballet and opera.

Survivors include a son, Raymond McGinnis of Brooklyn, NY., one daughter, Florrie McGinnis of Connecticut, one sister, Gloria Catanzaro of San Diego, CA., and close friends, Sharon and Vance Boyea of Malone, NY.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Geraldine Catanzaro in 1998.

There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held at St. Augustine’s Cemetery, in North Bangor, NY., with the Rev. Raymond Moreau officiating, on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 1 p.m.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, NY.
