Obituary of Gloria C. Campbell

~Gloria C. Campbell, 92, of Massena, NY., and formerly of Fort Covington, NY., passed away early Thursday morning, July 27, 2017, at the St. Regis Nursing Home, in Massena, NY. She had been a resident there since June 30, 2017.
   Born in Ste. Agnes de Dundee, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Martha Davidson Currie. She attended Dundee Consolidated School and also McDonald College in Montreal where she received her teachers training degree.
   On November 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to David S. Campbell in Ste. Agnes de Dundee, Quebec. He predeceased her on February 11, 1999.
   Many years ago Gloria was employed as a teacher in Rockburn, Quebec, and later worked for the Canadian Department of Defense. After moving to the United States, she was employed at the Shields Slipper Factory in Bombay, NY and later for Tru-Stitch Footwear in Malone, NY.
   Gloria was a member and past Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Covington, NY. She was a sixty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star #392 Covington Chapter, a member of the Massena Senior Citizens and Massena Library, and a past member of the Malone W.O.T.M. She was an accomplished pianist and organist and severed as organist for the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Covington for many years. She was organist for the Order of the Eastern Star #392 for more than forty five years.
   Survivors include two sons and three daughters in law, Dale and Mary Campbell of Honeyoye Falls, NY., Stephen and Darlene Campbell of Williamsburg, VA., and Paula Campbell of Syracuse, NY., two daughters and sons in law, Judith and Philip Trudeau of Massena, NY., and Susan and Robert Bashaw of Geneseo, NY., fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
   Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Donald Campbell, one brother, Jack Currie and two sisters, Norma Martin and June Gardiner.
   There are no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Howard Cain officiating. Burial will be in the Zion United Church Cemetery, in Ste. Agnes de Dundee, Quebec, Canada.
   Donations may be made in her memory to the Fort Covington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department,- in Fort Covington, NY.
   Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, NY.
