Obituary of Michael James White

~Michael James White, 67, of Phoenix, AZ., passed away in Phoenix, on April 29, 2017, with his loving partner by his side.
   Born in Malone, NY., May 19, 1950, he was the son of the late Lyle J. and Patricia M. Finnegan White. He graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone, NY.,  and continued his studies at Canton A.T.C. focusing on nursing.
   He moved to Syracuse, NY., where he interned at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, specializing in inhalation therapy and later helped start the inhalation therapy unit at the Alice Hyde Hospital, in Malone, NY., in 1971. He then moved to Cleveland, OH., where he worked and attended Case Western Reserve University from 1973-78 and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, in nursing.
   Michael moved to Houston, TX., where he continued his work in the medical field and studied nursing administration at Texas Women’s University from 1979-83, eventually earning his PHD. He served as supervisor of case management for Sanus, NYL Healthcare, from 1988-92,  from 1996-1999, he served as director of clinical operations for HCA Healthcare, Mid America. He served as vice president of clinical operations for Life Point Hospitals from 1999-2005. He served as director of case and quality management for Abrazo Healthcare at the Phoenix Baptist Hospital from 2006 -2008.
   His employment allowed him to move around the country living in Houston, New Orleans, Nashville and eventually Phoenix, where he retired as Director for Quality and Risk Management at Iasis Healthcare, he had been employed there from 2008-2013.
   Michael married his life partner, Steven Chaisson, aboard the Queen Mary II, on October 7, 2012. He then founded White and Associates Clinical Consultants, in 2013 and served as president of the company at the time of his death.
   Michael enjoyed traveling, reading, and working in his leather shop. He loved to entertain guests and family members both at his home or in various vacation spots around the country.
   Along with his life partner, Steven of Phoenix, AZ.,  he is survived by six brothers and four sisters in law, Gregory and Bernice White of Palm Coast, FL., Patrick and Deborah White of Westville, NY., Timothy and Christine White of North Bangor, NY., Anthony “Tony” and Linda White of North Bangor, NY., Matthew White and his companion, Kim Harwood of North Bangor, NY., and Terrance White of Westville, NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service and burial will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Wylie Cemetery in North Bangor, NY., with the Rev. Raymond Moreau officiating at 1 p.m.
   Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. in Malone, NY.
