Obituary of Eugene Oliver Boyea, III.

Eugene O. “Major” Boyea, III., 60, of Malone, N.Y. passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 28, 2018, at his home while under the care of Hospice of the North Country, and his loving family.

Born in Malone, N.Y. on April 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Eugene and Margaret Jock Boyea, II. He attended local schools.

He was a farmer all of his life working for the Bilow, Child’s and Botto Farms.

His hobbies included repairing small engines, CB Radios, fishing and collecting various items.

Survivors include his long time companion, Carol Andrews of Malone, NY., two brothers and a sister-in-law Christopher Boyea, Sr. and Daniel and Thomasena Boyea of Malone, N.Y., five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Margaret Boyea and June and David Boyea of Malone, N.Y., Tammy and Myron Gratton of Joshua Tree, CA., Sharon and John Patterson of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Karen and David Riley of Malone, N.Y.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Faith Boyea and one brother, Walter Boyea.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, N.Y. A funeral service will take place at 1p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Roger Preve officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, N.Y.

Donations may be made in Eugene’s memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc., in Malone, NY.

If friends or family would like to bring a dish to pass, there will be a luncheon after the burial at the First Baptist Church, on Academy Street Hill, in Malone, NY.
