
Obituary of Mary Cecile Miller

Mary C. Miller, 95, of Fort Covington, died Saturday morning, March 22, 2025 after a brief illness, while under the care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.
Born August 30, 1929, she was the daughter of Joseph Alphonse and Marie Agnes Latulipe. Her parents predeceased her.
On December 30, 1950, she married John C. Miller at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Covington, they were married 47 years. Her husband predeceased her on August 17, 1997.
Mrs. Miller sang at weddings during her younger years. She worked at the Bombay Slipper Factory, then she moved on to Salmon River Central School. She enjoyed the Boston Bruins, Salmon River Hockey Team, the Mets, knitting, the family farm and traveling. Her wisdom and faith will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her four children and their families, Arthur (Judy) Miller, Michael (Cheryl) Miller, Timothy (Debbie) Miller, Jane Buckley; former daughter-in-law, Sandy Miller; grandchildren, Nicole Young, Shawn Miller, Corey Miller, Gina Moughty, Jessica Burliss, Justin Miller, Megan Miller and Stephanie Killion; bonus grandchildren, Adam Lauzon, Jo Ellen Moulton, Sherry McQuinn, Stacey Lauzon; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Brian Holden and Gregory Buckley, as well as a young grandson, James Holden Buckley.
She is survived one brother and four sisters, Frank and Barbara Latulipe, Theresa Sweet, Carole Duncan, Lucie and Brian LaPlante, Anne and Gould Hunter; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Latulipe, Joyce Latulipe and Jane Latulipe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Lucien Latulipe, Albert Latulipe and Leo Latulipe; two brothers-in-law, Stewart Sweet and Jack Duncan; and one sister, Gabrielle Latulipe, in infancy.
Calling Hours at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Covington will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pasala. A burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Covington. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at the American Legion in Fort Covington.
Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country in Malone or the Fort Covington Rescue Department.
