Gerald W. “Jerry” Douglas, 68, of Port Orange,Florida passed away April 12, 2025 at the Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona, Florida.
Gerald was born January 6, 1957 to Ardon and Sally (O’Donnell) Douglas in Malone, New York.
Jerry was deeply loved by his family and loved them all in return. He also had many friends that considered each other family. From his Tiki Bar family in Daytona Beach, his Nova Campground family where he called home, to his Pine Ridge Park family in New York. Jerry loved a warm night and a campfire with friends and family, where you could always have a good laugh and listen to his favorite classic country music playing. He could always make you laugh with his quick whit and a smile.
Jerry was a very proud Navy Veteran, having served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy during the Gulf War.
He loved his life and will forever be missed by everyone who knew him.
Gerald was predeceased by his father, Ardon Douglas; a brother, Patrick Douglas; and maternal grandparents, Patrick and Anabel O’Donnell.
He is survived by his mother, Sally Douglas of Chateaugay; two brothers, Walter Douglas and his companion Wendy Jock of Duane, NY and Stephen Douglas and his companion Theresa Smith of North Bangor, NY; three sisters, Cynthia Helm and husband Matthew of Chateaugay, Julie Wilcox of Chateaugay and Tammy Feimann and her companion Bob Otis of Burke; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private Graveside Service will take place at the convenience of the family.
A Memorial Donation in Gerald “Jerry” Douglas’ name may be made to the Barracks of Hope, 962 Derbyshire Rd, Daytona Beach, FL.
Jerry made a donation to them himself. The organization provides transitional housing to male and female veterans who have struggled with homelessness, addiction and mental health. All of his clothing was donated to them by the family.
