Obituary of Thomas A. Herne

 Thomas A. Herne, born November 6, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly at home in Akwesasne on April 24, 2025. Tom was a lifelong, dedicated First Responder in the community. First as a volunteer firefighter with Bombay Fire Department, then working as a full time EMT for Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance until his retirement. He was predeceased by his mother, Bessie Curtis; his father, Kenneth Herne; two infant sons, Kenneth and Curtis; and an infant granddaughter, Christeen Marie. He was also predeceased by many brothers, sisters, friends and family over the years. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a huge love for his fur-babies, Callie and Jinx, whom he has now joined. He is survived by his loving wife, Monica; two sons, Thomas (Lillian) and Jonathan (Jennifer); step-sons, Mitch and Corey; his sister, Debbie; brother-in-law, Scott; sister-in-law, Michelle; his many grandchildren, Austin (Natalie), Alexis, Kamry, Brennen, Curtis, Latesha, Kirsten, Dustin and Korri-Jo; his great grandchildren, Elias, Brookleigh, Atticus, Nova, Kendryck, Kashdyn, Alaysia, Ariah, Aerilynne and Kreed. Calling Hours will be Monday, April 28, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home, 2352 State Route 37, Fort Covington.
