Kenneth I. Knudsen Jr. Obituary

Kenneth I. Knudsen, Jr., 89, of North Bangor, NY passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by his family.  


He was the husband of Raoutee (Poochie) Knudsen.  


Born October 9, 1935, in Rutland, VT, he was the son of Kenneth and Mildred Knudsen.  He was raised and attended school in Litchfield, CT.  


He was predeceased by his sisters, Rosemond Romano, Katherine Rosenbeck, and Gloria Bentley.  


He was a pilot in the National Guard, Army and an avid private pilot logging over 33,000 hours in the air.  In his early years flying he was known as “Captain Ken” working for WPOP, giving air traffic and weather reports as a helicopter pilot.


He leaves behind his children Rocky Knudsen (Jan) of Winsted, CT, Susan Considine (James) of Torrington, CT, Jill Conway (Victor) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Selwyn Jamurath (Jackie Green) of Brasher Falls, NY, Sterling Jamurath of East Orange, NJ, Stern Jamurath (Tyelise) of Covington, GA, and Hemdath (Chico) Maraj of North Bangor, NY.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly Considine, Rachel Considine, Michael Sokolik (Stephanie) and Prakash Maraj along with his great-grandchildren, Presley, Memphis and Gracelyn Sokolik.


There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 4 at 12:00 at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Malone, NY.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bangor Animal Shelter.
