Barbara J. LaMondie passed away July 24, 2025 after many years of heart issues. She was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was a devoted Catholic born in Burke, NY, the daughter of Andrew and Ida (Trombley) Fleury. She attended a local one room country school until attending Franklin Academy, graduating in 1957. She attended North Country Community College graduating in 1984, with an associates degree and receiving two high honor awards.

Barbara married “Buck” Anthony LaMondie on September 15, 1962. She had two sons, Henry, born in 1963 and Mark, born in 1966. She worked at Northern Hardware, Cooperative Extension, and Sunmount Developmental Center in Tupper Lake, retiring in 2000.

Her passionate hobbies include being an avid reader of many thousands of books, (the WEAD Library can attest to this), gardening, her extensive orchard, quilting, cooking weekly meals for her family and friends, celebrating Christmas, canning the harvest, sending cards and letters and telling stories.

She is survived by two sons, Henry (Dianne) of Westville and Mark (Nancy) of Malone; two sisters, Theresa Pigott of Wingdale, NY and Jessica Farrell of New Milford, CT; grandchildren, Leanne (John), Norman, Matthew (Krista), John, and Adelynn; great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Anna, Isaiah, Gracein, Macenna, Kingston, Lucas, Ashlynn, Royce, Sylvia, Nova, Lorellei and Alice; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Buck, in 1989, her grandson, Anthony, in 2022, two brothers, Arthur in 1979 and Francis in 1985, her parents, Andrew in 1993 and Ida in 1997, and her beloved dog, Daisy Mae.

She was a loving mother, sister, grandma and friend. Everyone who knew her was a better person for having her in their lives. She will always be loved and in our hearts forever. Thank you for everything!

Calling hours will be held July 29, 2025 at 9am at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame Church at 10am with a graveside service following at St. John Bosco Cemetery. A reception will follow.
