Clarence E. Dumas, 93, of Malone, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
The son of Walter and Anna (Brockway) Dumas, Clarence was born April 14, 1932 in Malone.
Clarence enjoyed his many hobbies. He loved playing horseshoes, calling bingo at the Moose Lodge and in Florida, and he enjoyed playing cards. He was involved in many different organizations, from being an usher at Notre Dame Church as well as in Florida, he was also a member of the Moose Lodge, the Knights of Columbus and served in the National Guard.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Viva (Gregware) Dumas, married August 2, 1952; his sons, Robert Dumas and his wife, Andrea, of Texas and David Dumas and his wife, Sandy of Plattsburgh; daughters, Brenda and Fay Ploof of Malone, Cathy Miles and Jack Brown of Malone, Ellen Dumas and Shannon McNett of Florida and Carol Fletcher and her husband, Ray, of Saranac Lake; brothers, Kenneth Dumas, William Dumas, Edgar Dumas, Norman Dumas, Leslie Dumas and Darrell Dumas; sisters, Rita Dumas, Kaye Welsh, Bernice Gonyea, Geraldine Barlow and Joan Coughlin; twelve grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame Church in Malone. Interment will follow at the Notre Dame Cemetery.
