Theresa E. Mallette, 96, of Malone, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Center in Malone.

Born June 12, 1929, on Lake Titus in Malone, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Beach) Benware.

She was united in marriage to Richard A. Mallette at St. Helen’s Church in Chasm Falls on November 12, 1949. Theresa worked as a seamstress at Malone Dress factory for 35 years before retiring in 1994.

Theresa was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She loved gardening and camping as well as watching NASCAR and spending time with her family.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Richard Mallette on October 29, 2012; a brother, Carl Benware; and sisters, Gertrude Rouselle, Stella O’Connor and Virginia Shantie.

She is survived by her sons, David and Judy Mallette of Malone and Harold and Kathy Mallette of Malone; a brother, Allen Benware of Malone; sisters, Bertha Griffin of Syracuse, Evelyn Vanier of Malone and Linda and John Hanna of Malone; grandchildren, Samantha Mallette Dabiew, Amanda and Greg Snyder, Matthew Mallette and Nicole, Nicholas and Amanda Mallette and Marissa (Mallette) LaPage of Moira; great grandchildren, Hunter Allen, Hannah Mallette Rockhill, Jacob Shonyo, Makhia Snyder, Leyla Snyder, Aiden Mallette, Ryan Mallette and Jackson Mallette; and a great-great grandson, Ezra Rockhill.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a funeral service at 12. A burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
