It is with deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Margaret S.

Wescott, who left us peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on January 20, 1925,

in Louisville, NY, Margaret shared her sunny spirit with all who had the privilege of knowing

her. She spent her professional years as a dedicated bookkeeper and secretary at the Franklin

County Treasurer’s Office in Malone, NY, where she was admired for her meticulous work and

unwavering commitment to her community.

Margaret, a longtime resident of Chasm Falls, NY, was not only known for her career but also

for her vibrant engagement with her church, family, and friends. As a lecturer at St. Helen's

Church, she touched the hearts of many with her eloquence and devotion. An active member of

the Altar & Rosary Society, Margaret found joy in shared faith and fellowship.

Her passion for life centered around her religious devotion and she never missed an opportunity

to say her rosary daily. She loved flowers and delighted in caring for them. Her favorite pastime

was crocheting and other hand work which she gave as gifts to friends and families. Watching

birds at her feeders also gave her a lot of joy each day.

Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews from both the Wescott and Smith families,

who carry on her spirit and cherished memories. Her life inspired those around her and will

continue to do so through the countless lives she touched.

A Funeral Service will take place at St. Helen's Church, in Chasm Falls, at 11:00 AM on October

10, 2025. Following this, a Graveside Service will be held at Morningside Cemetery at 12:30

PM, where loved ones are invited to gather to honor and celebrate her remarkable life.

Margaret was preceded in death by: Joseph Wescott, Thomas Smith, Stella Smith, Loyal Smith,

Gerald Smith, Elwood Smith, Walter Smith, Alfred Smith, James Smith, William Smith,

Franklin Smith, Roy Smith, Robert Smith, Helen Paige, George Paige, Mary Baker, Nelson

Baker, Alice Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Shirley Smith.
