Edward A. Thibeault Sr. Obituary

Edward A. Thibeault Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 71. He was born on December 25, 1954, in Malone, NY, where he spent his early years building the foundation of a life marked by hard work, community, and generosity.

Edward was a dedicated foreman at Barcomb's Furniture in Chateaugay, NY, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional life, he was a cherished member of the community, contributing his time and efforts to the Lyons Club. Notably, he brought joy to many by running the hot dog stand at the fairgrounds for many years, where his warm smile and kind demeanor left a lasting impression on those he served.

Edward had many passions, including riding his motorcycle, fishing, and hunting. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was a day spent outdoors or an evening playing poker with friends. A devoted sports fan, Edward was especially passionate about the Dallas Cowboys, often gathering with friends and family to cheer on his favorite team as they took the field.

He is survived by his sons, Shawn, Tommy, James, Arthur, Donal and Thomas Mitchell and Christopher Thibeault as well as his daughters, Aimee, Lilah and Brandie Mitchell, and Amber Thibeault. He also leaves behind a loving network of family that includes daughters-in-law, Caitlin Thibeault, Jennifer and Melissa; and several grandchildren, Landon Mitchell, Gracelynn and Adelyn Thibeault, and several others who will miss his laughter and guidance.

Edward is also survived by his brother, James Thibeault; his sister, Theresa Secore and Alieta "Bunnie" Barnum, along with brothers-in-law, Tom Secore and John Hoomans. He shared a special bond with all of them, and his absence will be profoundly felt.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Edward not just as our loved one but as a man of warmth, humor, and compassion, whose spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy Thibeault; wife, Carolyn Thibeault; son, Edward Thibeault Jr.; and sisters, Marla Hoomans, Elaine Manor.
