Marian Murtagh Leone, born June 30, 1932, in Malone, New York, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elinor Marceau Murtagh. Marian graduated from Franklin Academy in 1950, and continued her education at Adirondack Business School.

Marian began her professional career with the New York State Retail Hardware Association in Syracuse, where she worked from 1951 to 1957. She later returned to her hometown of Malone and was employed by Marine Midland Bank from May 1957 until her retirement in March 1988. In September 1988, Marian began volunteering at Alice Hyde Hospital, where she generously gave her time.

On January 7, 1967, Marian married Joseph Leone at St. Joseph Church. Together they shared many years of devotion, travel and companionship.

Marian was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents and her brother, George (Nancy) Murtagh.

She is survived by her sister, Sue Hulbert (widow of John Hulbert); her nephew, Michael Hulbert; her nieces, Carol Murtagh (Steve); Michele Rossi (Dave); and Stephanie Allen; as well as three great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Marian will be missed by her family and friends.  A funeral service will be held June 12, 2026 at 10:00 am at Notre Dame Church, Malone, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alice Hyde Medical Center.
