Dolores T. Stone Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dolores T. Stone, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, who left this world on April 15, 2026, at the age of 97. Dolores was born on March 16, 1929, in Malone, NY, and spent her later years in Massena, NY, where she dedicated her life to her family and community.
Dolores was a devoted homemaker, finding immense joy in her roles as a mother and caretaker. She also worked as a nursery caregiver at Community General Hospital in Syracuse and provided private duty nursing in Massena for many years. Alongside her husband, Art, she joyfully operated the Brushton Bar and Grill for 11 years, where she created countless cherished memories.
A proud member of the Brushton American Legion Auxiliary, Dolores was active in her community and deeply appreciated the support and bonds she formed there. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, home-cooked meals, and the warmth of family gatherings. A talented cook and skilled crafter, Dolores delighted in sharing her passions with those around her.
She is survived by her loving son Jeffrey Lantry and daughter-in-law Lori Lantry; son Joseph Lantry and daughter-in-law Debbie Lantry; son Kabe “Jim” Lantry and daughter-in-law Connie Lantry; son Patrick McKenna and daughter-in-law Darlene McKenna; step-son John Stone and step-daughter-in-law LeeAnn Stone; step-son Jeffery Stone; step-daughter Diane Keffer and step-son-in-law Sam Keffer and step-daughter-in-law Linda Stone; as well as her sisters, Sue Ann Bauer and Vicky Kerkey. Her legacy will live on through her 32 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Lucy Derouchie, her husband, Bernard Stone, her sons, John Lantry, Michael McKenna; step-children Richard Stone and Patricia Adomitias; a grandson, Jason Trumble; and sibling, Robert Derouchie.
In honoring Dolores's life, calling hours will be held at the Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home on April 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at St. Mary's Church of the Fort in Fort Covington on April 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Dolores will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Old St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Covington at a later date.
Dolores T. Stone will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her spirit find peace, and may her family find comfort in the love they shared.
