Eileen Heading Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eileen Heading on May 21, 2026. She was born in Westville, New York, to Howard and Estella Dumas on March 4, 1943.
On October 27, 1962, she married her true love, Charles E. Heading. She was a devoted wife who deeply cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Her family was at the center of her life, and she found great joy in caring for those she loved. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
She will also be remembered for her fabulous cooking, feisty spirit and sense of humor. She faced life with strength, heart, and wit, leaving an impression on everyone who knew her. Her love, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
Eileen retired from Franklin County Personnel in 2004. She always went above and beyond to assist employees and job applicants, offering kindness, guidance, and support to everyone.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; her daughters & sons-in-law; Tina (Kurt) Taylor, Kathy (Kerry) Smith, and Melissa (Dean) Johnston; her grandchildren, Kara (Noah) Bowes, Zachary Taylor, Emily (James) Toolen, Jennifer Johnston and Jacob Johnston; great grandson Emmett Bowes, her siblings Leona Petell, Arthur (Carolyn) Dumas, and John (Donna) Dumas; beloved nieces Brenda (Jerry) LaCroix, Sherry Marlow, and Michelle (Dan) McGeachie as well as other extended family.
She will be welcomed in heaven by her parents and siblings Douglas Dumas, Henry Dumas, Eunice Reome, Joyce Miller, and Phyllis Vaincourt; and great niece Amanda McGeachie Quick.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 1:00pm at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home with burial to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
