Allen M. Raville, 92, of Malone, passed away on May 31, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. Allen was born on July 9, 1930 in Malone, to the late Theodore and Lois Boyea Raville. He was employed for thirty seven years with Johnson Industrial Painting in Malone, and then was a self-employed painter, retiring in 1991.He was a member of the Malone Fish & Game Club, the Burke Horseshoe Club and was a communicant of St. Helen’s Church in Chasm Falls. He was also an avid hunter, traveling to Wyoming and Montana to elk hunt. A marriage to Eleanor Maneeley ended amicably. He would later marry Frances Drew LaCroix. She predeceased Allen on September 7, 2011. Survivors include his two sons; David (Daisy) Raville and Kevin (Lorie) Raville of Malone, two daughters; Carolyn (Keith) Johnson of Greenville S.C. and Lori (David) Hughes of Malone, brothers; Everette (Elizabeth) Raville, Richard Raville, Lyndon Raville and Marvin Raville of Malone, three sisters; Beverly (Joseph) Robideau and Eleanor (William) McClain of Malone and Martha Brady of Austin, TX, along with his grandchildren; Jason (Shelly) Raville of Morrisonville, Kristen (David) Richards of Sommerville, MA, Kenneth Johnson, Greenville, S.C., Dean (Regan) Johnson, Ft. Mill, S.C., Lindsey (Nate) Chapman, Lauren Hughes, Andrew Raville and Neil (Kylee) Raville of Malone, Great grandchildren; Anastasia Raville, Morrisonville, Tanner and Mackenzie Chapman, Malone, Leigh Eleanor Richards of Sommerville, MA., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents and wives, he was predeceased by two brothers Gordon and Francis Raville and a sister Ivah Livernois. The family would like to offer their thanks to his compassionate caregivers for the excellent care he received. Calling Hours will be held at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone from 9 to 11:30am on Tuesday, June 6. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton, N.Y., with burial in Morningside Cemetery. Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service in Malone is handling arrangements for the family.
