Obituary of Clara P. Smith

~Clara Pauline Smith, age 99, of Malone, NY., passed away Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, NY. She had been a resident there since December 4, 2013.
 Born in Montague, NJ., on July 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo Jacob and Rosanna Bosler Crawn. She attended and graduated from local schools in the Montague, NJ., area.
 On September 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to Willis Henry Smith, Jr., in Hainesville, NJ. He predeceased her on October 5, 1977. She was later predeceased by her companion of seventeen years, Louis Fozman of Lambertville, NJ.
 Several years ago Clara assisted her son with the operation of his dairy farm in Montague, NJ. She later was employed for twelve years as a chef at the St. Francis Hospital in Port Jervis, NY.
 Clara was a 4H volunteer and leader for many years in Montague, NJ., and was also a member of the Dutch Reform Church where she celebrated her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed reading, butterflies, cooking and big and small game hunting in her younger years.
 She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Willis H. and Helen Smith, III of Malone, NY., and Peter J. and Susan Smith of Montague, NJ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
 Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by two sisters, Jennifer  Crawn in infancy and Alberta Rumsey.
 There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Montague Reform Church Cemetery in Montague, NJ., next to her loving husband Willis.
