~James E. Lindley, 50, of Fort Covington, NY., passed away Saturday morning, December 2, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his wife and loving family.
   Born in Potsdam, NY. September 16, 1967, he was the son of Elwin and Ann Barclay Lindley. He graduated from Madrid-Waddington High School and Canton State University. He later graduated from Plattsburgh State University with a B.A. in Small Business Administration.
   Jim was employed by General Motors in Massena for several years. He later was employed by ALCOA in Massena for seven years. He retired in 2014, because of his health.
   He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, NY., and was a member of the United Steel Workers and United Auto Workers. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, biking, playing basketball, woodworking and riding his Harley. He had coached his daughter’s soccer team and cheered for his children at their sporting events. He loved being outside on his “party deck” with family and friends. Jim was a kind and loving man with a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed by many, including his two dogs, Copper and Andes.
   On July 7, 2001, he was united in marriage to the former Shauna Mitchell at St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, NY., by Rev. Kris Lauzon. She survives.
   Along with his wife, Shauna, he is survived by his mother, Ann Lindley of Madrid, NY., one son, Mitchell Lindley at home, three daughters, Sierra Sicard of Massena, NY., and Kora and Karissa Lindley both at home, one brother, Frank Lindley of Potsdam, NY., two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marlene and David Ten Eyck of Clifton Park, NY., and Laurie Lindley of Canton, NY., his father and mother-in-law, Ian and Sonja Mitchell of Fort Covington, NY., two brothers in law, Aaron Mitchell and his wife, Julie of Fort Covington, NY., and Brock Mitchell and his wife, Sarah of Bombay, NY., four sisters -in-law, Ellen Mainville and her husband, Matt of Fort Covington, NY., Geri Mitchell of Guilderland, NY., Joni Oliver and her husband, John of Fort Covington, NY., Danielle French and her husband Jeff also of Fort Covington, NY., and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special care giver, Amy Bingham of Fort Covington, NY..
   He was predeceased by his father Elwin Lindley.
   There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7, 2017,  at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, NY., with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, in Fort Covington, NY.,  in the Spring.
   Donations may be made in his memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc., St. Mary’s Church, or to Sandy’s Steps non profit organization for ALS.
   Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home, in Fort Covington, NY.
