Obituary of Thelma I. D'Amour

Thelma I. D’Amour, age 88, of Malone, NY., passed away Monday morning, January 8, 2018, at her daughters home while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.

Born in Chateaugay, NY., on April 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Cora Barnes Rust. She attended local schools.

On April 11, 1946 she was first united in marriage to John J Pickreign in Chateaugay, NY. He predeceased her on July 2, 1979. On April 15, 1991, she was united in marriage to Gerard D’Amour at St. John Bosco Church in Malone, NY. He predeceased her on October 27, 2014.

Thelma was employed in the dietary department from 1970-1980 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, NY. She enjoyed reading and going for walks.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Edward and Louise Pickreign and Robert and Janet Pickreign all of Malone, NY., five daughters and sons in law, Carol and Rodney Hart of Malone, NY., Gail and Albert Williams of North Bangor, NY., Helen and David Marshall, of Malone, NY., Mary and John Johnston of North Bangor, NY., and Johnna and Bryan Bashaw of Malone, NY. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and two husbands she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Thelma I. Hart in 1972, six brothers, Gerald, Howard, Cleon, Robert, Merrill and William Rust, and by four sisters, Marjorie Gauthier, Helen Rust, Edna Rust and Beatrice DeLong,

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 10a.m. at St. John Bosco Church in Malone, NY. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Malone, NY.

Donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
