Obituary of Elaine M. Jeffery

Elaine M. Jeffery, 84, of Malone, NY., passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2018, at the Alice Center, in Malone, NY. She had been a resident there since February 2, 2016.

Born in Bombay, NY., November 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alpha J. and Leona M. Jock LaTray, Sr. She graduated from Bombay High School.

She was married to Harold F. Jeffery. The marriage ended in divorce.

Elaine was employed by Tru-Stitch Footwear, in Malone, NY., for many years.

She enjoyed farming, going to garage sales and caring for her cats.

Survivors include, one son, Floyd Howard of Colorado, four daughters and a son in law, Margaret Jeffery of Bombay, NY., Naomie and James Yeddo of Constable, NY., Barbara Dame of Malone, NY., and Cora Lancto of Florida, one brother, Richard LaTray of Bombay, NY., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her companion of many years, Charles Halley, one brother, Alpha LaTray, Jr., and one sister, Linda Quenville.

Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. until Noon at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home, in Fort Covington, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, in Bombay, NY., in the Spring.

Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, NY.
