Phyllis W. McKenzie, 80, of Chasm Falls, NY., passed away Thursday afternoon, May 31, 2018, at C.V.P.H., in Plattsburgh, NY. She had been a patient there since May 14.

Born in Malone, NY., April 30, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Harriett LaMothe Wahlrab. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Malone, in 1956, and from New York State University at Canton, NY., in 1972 and again in 1974.

Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for the N.Y.S. Department of Corrections, in Malone, NY., from 1988 until her retirement in 2003.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Lee Brooks of Brighton, MI., and Patricia and Stanley Black of Lacona, NY.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Carl Aldrich.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 18, 2018, at 10 a.m., at St. Helen’s Church, in Chasm Falls, NY. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, NY.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Malone Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. in Malone, NY.
