Obituary of Adele M. Shonyo

Adele M. Shonyo, 82, of Chateaugay, NY., passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

Born in Burke, NY., on May 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late J. Fred and Daisy Brockway Maloney. She graduated from Franklin Academy, in Malone, NY., in 1954.

On January 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to Charles G. Shonyo at the Constable Methodist Church. He survives.

Adele was a homemaker, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and spending time with her family.

Along with her husband, Charles, she is survived by three sons and two daughters -in- law, Tommy and Helen Shonyo of Constable, NY., Jerry Shonyo of Stormville, NY., and Michael and Amy Shonyo of Norfolk, NY., three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joan and David Onorati of Jaffrey, NH., Janice Glasgow of Jaffrey, NH., and Kim and Roland Murray of Peterborough, NH., seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Robert and John Maloney, eight sisters, Freda Burke, June Hockey, Ola Bruso, Carol Holmes, Marion Roberts, Aletha Kayaloff, Charmion Mac Dowell and Audrey Dudley and one grandchild.

There are no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the North Burke Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY., or to the Chateaugay Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, NY.
