Obituary of John Francis Burgess, Jr.

John Francis Burgess, Jr., 58, of Malone, NY., passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, July 7, 2018, at his home.

Born in Malone, NY., September 16, 1959, he is the son of John Francis and Rose Florence LaRocque Burgess, Sr. He graduated from La Fayette Central School, in La Fayette, NY.

On July 25, 1981, he was united in marriage to the former Gladys Potter in La Fayette, NY. The marriage ended in divorce. She survives.

John was a horticulturalist and farm hand in La Fayette. He enjoyed flower gardening, walking, rocking in his favorite rocking chair and enjoying the outdoors.

Survivors include his father, John Francis Burgess, Sr. of Malone, NY., three sons, John Francis Burgess, III., and his fiancée Shawna LaVare, Joshua A. Burgess and Shaun C. Burgess and his fiancée Natasha Gale all of Malone, NY., two daughters, Amber R. Burgess and her companion, Raymond Rust of Malone, NY., and Brandy Helm of South Ryegate, VT., one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jeane and John Duchaine of Glens Falls, NY., eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother, Rose Florence Burgess.

There are no calling hours. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
