Obituary of Michael Robert Moutz

Michael Robert Moutz, 70, of Myrtle Beach, SC., and formerly of Malone, NY., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his home.

Born in Malone, NY., July 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert and Anna Viskovich Moutz. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Malone, NY., in 1965 and LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY., in 1969.

On June 30, 1973, he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Bowe at St. Joseph’s Church, in Fort Edward, NY. She predeceased him on April 29, 1998.

Mike taught history and coached basketball and soccer at St. Joseph’s Academy, in Malone for several years. He later was employed by Franklin County Recreation Department. After moving to Myrtle Beach, he was employed by Sunco Pool Company.

He was a past member of the Malone Lodge of Elks and the Malone Golf and Country Club. He played in several dart leagues in Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Kimberly and Kevin Hamby of Bogart, GA., and one grandson, Blake Patrick Hamby.

Along with his parents and his ex-wife, he was also predeceased by one grandson, Logan Bowe Hamby.

There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday July 21, 2018, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, on the Lake Titus Road, in Malone, NY.
