Obituary of Theodore M. Taylor

Theodore M. Taylor, 64, of Burke, NY., passed away early Wednesday morning, August 22, 2018, at the Alice Center, in Malone, NY., with his loving family by his side. He had been a resident there since April 20, 2015.

Born in Malone, NY., February 28, 1954, he was the son of the late Theodore and Marian Slyman Taylor. He graduated from Franklin Academy, in Malone.

On August 30, 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie L. Donnelly in Burke, NY. She predeceased him on December 19, 2009.

Ted was dairy farmer and was employed by several farms in the area. He retired in 2007.

He was a member of the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, playing darts, and going to garage sales. Since being a resident of the nursing home, he has enjoyed playing Wii.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Taylor of Malone, NY., one daughter, Amy Degon and her companion, Jason McMahon of Malone, NY., one brother and two sisters in law, Richard Taylor of Malone, NY, Elizabeth Taylor of Burke, NY., and Roberta Taylor of Chateaugay, NY., four sisters, Shirley Tavernia of Churubusco, NY., Martha Taylor of Burke, NY., Mary Cook of Malone, NY., and Theresa Shatlaw of Ogdensburg, NY., three grandchildren, Courtney Ledger, Luke Taylor and Addison Taylor all of Malone, NY., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by five brothers, Edward, Carl, Francis, Lloyd and Alfred Taylor and two brothers in law, William Tavernia and Erving Cook.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. George’s Cemetery, in Burke, NY.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or to the Alice Center Patient Activity Fund.
