Obituary of Patricia Lorane Tower
Patricia L. Tufo Tower, 55, of West Bangor, NY., passed away Friday afternoon, February 22, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, in Syracuse, NY., with her loving family by her side. She had been a patient there since February 1.
Born in Pensacola, Fl., January 16, 1964, she was the daughter of Jerry C. and Carrol Gearhart Tufo. She graduated from Watertown High School, in 1982. She received her A.A.S. Degree in Secretarial Science, from Jefferson Community College, in Watertown, NY., in 1985.
On September 22, 1990, she was united in marriage to Daniel W. Tower, at Holy Family Church, in Watertown, NY. He survives.
Pat just recently retired from serving as office manager for the School of Business and Economics at Plattsburgh State University, in Plattsburgh, NY. Prior to working at the College, she was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections, in the H.R. Department at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, in Malone, NY. She had faithfully served as a New York State employee for more than thirty three years. Along with her husband, they owned and operated a farm, maple sugar and honey business and strawberry fields.
She was a devoted Catholic and communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. She was a member of the church choir and a cantor. Pat enjoyed singing, listening to E.W.T.N., big band era music, reading and cooking. Her most cherished times were spent preparing meals for her family and friends. She was well known for her baked goods that she donated for various bake sales in the area.
Along with her husband, Daniel, she is survived by her mother, Carrol Tufo of Watertown, NY., one son, Daniel Tower of Houston, TX., one daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Jordan Dufrane of Syracuse, NY., one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Un Mi Tufo of Greenville, NC., two sisters and a brother-in-law, Catherine Tufo of Watertown, NY., and Paula and Scott Ford of Malone, NY., one grandson, Michael Dufrane of Syracuse, NY., and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Jerry C. Tufo on August 21, 2015.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY., A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, in the spring.
Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Andre Bessette Parish.
