Caroline I. Riley, 77, of Malone, NY., passed away Monday evening, March 13, 2017, at her home, with her loving husband and family by her side. They were assisted by Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY., October 31, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ermina Deno Monty. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1957. She later graduated from Dutchess Community College.
In March of 1958, she was united in marriage to Ronald Miesell. He predeceased her. On June 20, 1988, she was united in marriage to Gene R. Riley in Fort Royal, VA. He survives.
Caroline was employed by the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY., for more than twenty nine years. She retired in 1988.
She enjoyed camping at Mountain View, NY., puzzles, bowling, reading, and computer games.
Along with her husband, Gene, she is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Ronald and Janet Miesell of Greentown, PA., and Richard Miesell of Baton Rouge, LA., two stepdaughters and their husbands, Lowana and Glenn Jackson of Florida, and Laurel Riley-Brown and her husband Robert of Wappinger Falls, NY., three brothers and two sisters in law, Charles and June Monty of St. Cloud, FL., Leon and Nettie Monty of Morrisonville, NY., and Glen Monty of Molalla, OR., three sisters and one brother in law, Diane Callegary of Denmark, ME., Nancy Monty of Raleigh, NC., and Judith and Richard Breyette of Amenia, NY., thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her first husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Pauline Aldinger.
Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Spring Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, on Wednesday April 26, 2017, at 9 a.m.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
