Obituary of Rita Isabelle Aubrey

Rita “Isabelle” Aubrey, 95, of Rouses Point, NY., and formerly of Champlain, NY., passed away late Saturday night March 23, 2019, at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home, in Plattsburgh, NY. She had been a resident there since December 28, 2018.

Born in Malone, NY., July 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Roderick and Martha Abrams Primeau. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy, in Malone and attended college.

On September 22, 1943, she was united in marriage to Clifton J. Aubrey at Notre Dame Church, in Malone. He predeceased her on April 1, 1998.

Rita was a homemaker.

She enjoyed camping and spending her winters in Zephyrhills, FL. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Catholic Daughters. Rita was very involved in the Champlain-Rouses Point Elementary School Library and managed the Plattsburgh Fresh Air Program for forty years.

Survivors include, two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura Peebles of Tacoma, WA., and Mary and Richard Bryant of Dafter, MI., two grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a close friend of more than twenty years, Donald Miner, three brothers, Vincent, Donald and Gerald Primeau and five sisters, Margaret Blanchard, Beatrice Stone, Catherine Heiman, Irene Gilmett and Sr. Laura Ann Primeau.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, NY., in the spring.

Donations may be made in her memory for Masses for the repose of her soul.
