  Gerald F. Demers, 77, of Westville, NY., passed away Wednesday evening, December 4, 2019, at his home, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
   Born in Trout River, NY., April 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Patrick and Dollarinda Amyotte Demers. He attended local schools.
   He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960 until his Honorable Discharge in 1964. He served in Okinawa, Japan for a year.
   On January 2, 1965, he was united in marriage to the former Sharon C. Avery, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, in Westville, NY. She predeceased him on December 15, 2002.
   Many years ago, he was employed by Sears. Gerald was later a member of the Local #322 Labor Union, in Massena, NY., and worked construction for many years. He retired in 2001.
   He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, in Westville, NY. He was a member of the Fort Covington American Legion and a past member of the Constable Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
   Survivors include his companion, Barbara Curtis of Westville, NY., two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Stacie Demers of Trout River, NY., and Gerald and Jennifer Demers of Burke, NY., two daughters, Lisa Walbridge and her companion, Shane Allen of Malone,  NY., and Tammy Demers and her companion, Kevin Cassavaw of Chateaugay, NY., three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Demers of Fort Covington, NY., Rev. Richard Demers of Peru, NY., James and Joan Demers of Constable, NY., and Marlene Demers of Constable, NY., three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandra Marlow of Indiana, Margaret and Ronald Casey of Brushton, NY., and Shelley and Timothy Fleury of Buffalo, NY., nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one son-in-law, Thomas Walbridge, one brother, Arthur Demers, and one brother-in-law, Leonard Marlow.
   Calling Hours will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 10 a.m. until Noon at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, in Trout River, NY.
