Obituary of Robert C. Fitzsimmons

   Robert C. Fitzsimmons, 91, of Moira, NY., passed away, Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2019, at his home, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
   Born in Yorkville, NY., July 10, 1928, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Margaret Patterson Fitzsimmons, Sr.
   On February 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Niles, at the Methodist Church, in South Bombay, NY. She predeceased him on February 13, 2016.
   Robert was a custodian at Salmon River Central School in Fort Covington, NY., for more than eighteen years. He retired in 1984.
  He played with the Trumble Band for many years and had a great love of music. He also bowled with the Moira Senior Bowling League for many years. He enjoyed bird watching, camping and family events.
   Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Karen Fitzsimmons of Brushton, NY., three daughters, Gloria Christian and her husband, Richard of Blasdell, NY., Donna Winters and her husband Darius of North Bangor, NY., and Tammy Fitzsimmons of Bombay, NY., a son-in-law, John Maloney of Brushton, NY., one sister, Roberta Horton of Columbia, SC., eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins and his cat “T.T.”
   Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two daughters, Sheila Fitzsimmons and Vicky Maloney, one brother, Richard Fitzsimmons, one sister, Mary Clary and one grandson, Shawn Fitzsimmons.
   Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, in Brushton, NY., 
   Donations may be made in his memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY.
