   Leon J. Reome, 93, of Malone, NY., passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the U.V.M. Health Network Alice Hyde Medical Center, in Malone, NY., surrounded by his loving family.
   Born in Malone, NY., October 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mamie Perry Reome. He attended local schools.
    He served in the United States Army stationed in the Philippines and Japan, from 1945 until his Honorable Discharge in 1946.
   On June 9, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Ida M. Racicot, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Constable, NY. She predeceased him on February 20, 1999.  On September 16, 2000, he was united in marriage to the former Margaret Bray Whitman, at St. John Bosco Church, in Malone, NY. She survives.
   For more than twenty one years, Leon was employed by ALCOA in Massena. He retired in 1986, as a foreman.
   Leon was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church, in Malone. He was a member of the Malone American Legion and a past member of the Malone Lodge of Moose. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing horseshoes, and had a great love of music. For more than sixty two years, he played the guitar in several local bands, mainly the “Country Gentlemen”.
   Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of Malone, three daughters and a son in law, Terry and Richard Trim of Beekmantown, NY., Kim Smythe and her life partner, Mary Boyea of Malone, NY and Angela Fleury of Fort Covington, NY., seven step daughters, Helen Whitman of Holyoke, MA., Linda Soderbaum of Malone, NY., Joyce Staples and her husband, Daniel of Belchertown, MA., Susan Figueroa of Malone, NY.,  Judy Platanitis of Holyoke, MA., Mary Goodman and her husband Daniel of Malone, NY., Connie Whitman of Malone, NY., six grandchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, twenty step great grandchildren, one step great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 
   Along with his parents and his first wife, he was predeceased by seven brothers, Gilbert, Francis, Dona, Raymond, Normand, Lawrence and Robert Reome and five sisters, Lucille Tatro, Beatrice Mayville, Ida Marlow, Gladys Tatro, Florida Marleau.
   Calling hours will be Friday, December 20, 2019 from Noon until 2 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Alfred Fish officiating. Burial with full Military Rites provided by the Malone American Legion will be in the Stevens Cemetery, in Skerry, NY.
   Donations may be made in his memory to the Malone American Legion, Post 219.
