Grace E. Barcomb, 87, of Mountain View, NY., passed away Sunday morning, January 5, 2020, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY. She had been a resident there since February 17, 2016, bravely dealing with a long illness.
Born in Malone, NY., July 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred Carter Larry.
On January 22, 1955, she was united in marriage to Calvin J. Barcomb, at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY., by the late Rev. Cyril Rapin. Her husband predeceased her on June 2, 1999.
Grace worked for several manufacturing companies, in the Newark, NY. area. She helped produce computer parts for gaming systems when that was a burgeoning industry. She taught her family to treat everyone fairly and to love each other. She was a communicant of St. Helen’s Church in Chasm Falls, NY. and a member of the Newark American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and home crafts.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Paula Barcomb of Warren, OH., one daughter, Catherine Bump of Mountain View, NY., two brothers, Keith and John Larry both of Malone, NY., nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces, and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Richard Larry on December 25, 2014.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY., from 9 until 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon, at St. Helen’s Church, in Chasm Falls, NY. Burial will be in St. Helen’s Cemetery, in Chasm Falls.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Owls Head-Mt. View Volunteer Fire Department or E.M.S. or to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
