David L. Smith, 61, of North Bangor, NY., passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the U.V.M. Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility, in Burlington, VT. Born in Malone, NY., November 29, 1958, he was the son of the late Lincoln A. and Helen Mattimore Smith. He graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone in 1978. Many years ago, Dave was employed by the Peter and Sue Scott Farm in Malone for ten years. For the past thirty years he was a mill worker for Collins Feed and later Feed Commodities in Malone. He was a member of the Red Tavern Club and enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Duane. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing pool and helping friends and neighbors in their time of need. Survivors include his companion of more than thirty years, Dreama Colburn of North Bangor, NY., two brothers, Steven Smith and his companion, Judy Fix of Gilbert, AZ., and James Smith and his companion, Linda Glass of Warrenton, VA., five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Terry Thorpe of Madison, WI., Susan Marlowe and her companion, Paul Duval of Lisbon, NY., Brenda and Bob Pulverenti of Knightdale, NC., Peggy Robertson of St. Regis Falls, NY., and Lynne and John Dominic of Chateaugay, NY., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no calling hours. A Celebration of His Life will be held on a day and time to be announced. Donations may be made in his memory to the Westville Volunteer Fire Department or E.M.S. or to the Red Tavern Club in Duane, NY.
