Dorothy M. Dufrane, 100, of Fort Covington, New York, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2020 at the Massena Rehabilitation Center in Massena, NY. Born on July 15th, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lydia Besennette Marlowe. At one time, she worked at Tru-Stitch Factory in Malone, NY. She was a member of the Constable United Methodist Church, the Fort Covington Senior Citizens, the Diabetic Association and was a past member of the Malone Woman of the Moose. She enjoyed cooking as well as flower and vegetable gardening. On January 19th, 1937, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Dufrane, Sr. in Constable, NY. He predeceased her on April 23, 1994. Survivors include one son, Donald Dufrane, Jr. of Fort Covington, NY.; a brother Donald Marlowe of Teboville, NY.; two grand children and their spouses; Henry and Lorie Dufrane of Brasher Falls, NY. and Annette and David Grinnel of Liberty, PA.; three great grandchildren; Trudy Arbogast of Mansfield, PA., Jared Arbogast of Minersville, PA. and Logan Arbogast, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Francis, Lawrence and Joseph Marlowe, and her two sisters Marion Monica and Grace Marlowe, as well as her daughter in law Marie Dufrane and her sister in law Agnes Dufrane. A graveside service will be held at the Constable Protestant Cemetery at 11a.m. on Thursday, March 26th, 2020 with the Reverend Billy Bond officiating. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Fort Covington Fire Department or Fort Covington E.M.S. Online donations may be made to the family at www.brusofuneralservice.com. Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, NY.
