Obituary of Yvonne M. Hammond

Yvonne M. Hammond, of Constable, NY., passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, April 20, 2020, at her home. Born in Malone, NY., December 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Louis V. and Rachel Beach Gardner. She graduated from high school in Randolph, VT. Many years ago, Yvonne was employed by Merrimaid Manufacturing in Randolph, VT., she later worked at Waterbury Plastic Company also in Randolph. From 1991 until her retirement in 2000, she was employed by Tru-Stitch Footwear in Malone, NY. While living in Brandon, NY., she served on the Brandon Review Board for Assessments, was an election inspector and served as Deputy Town Clerk. She enjoyed home crafts, camping and spending time with her friends and family. On October 22, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Hammond, at St. George’s Church, in Burke, NY. He predeceased her on June 6, 2017. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Hammond, Jr. and his companion, Robin Dillingham-Moore of Malone, NY., Alvin Hammond of Randolph, VT., and Edward and Robin Hammond of Constable, NY., three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean Alexander and her companion, Richard Bradley of Randolph, VT., Bonnie and Patrick Young of Constable, NY., Lisa Huffman of Randolph, VT., and Roger Fournier of Norwood, NY., four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward and Kathy Gardner of Malone, NY., David Gardner of Westville, NY., Louis and Patricia Gardner, Jr., of Trout River, NY., and Clyde Gardner of Malone, NY., twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Alan P. Hammond and one daughter, Lynn Fournier. There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service and Burial will be held in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, VT., on a date and time to be announced.
