Ronald A. Demers, 81, of Constable, NY., passed away early Monday morning, August 3, 2020, at his home, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
Born in Constable, NY., May 27, 1939, he was the son of James Lampley and Dollarenda Amyotte. He attended local schools.
Many years ago, Ronald was employed at the Burke Stone Quarry. He later worked for more than thirty five years for Construction Union Local #322, in Massena, NY.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and shuffleboard.
On March 16, 1962, he as united in marriage to the former Betty J. Gravell in Fort Covington, NY. She survives.
Along with his wife, Betty, he is survived by three daughters, Brenda Demers, Deborah Riley and Sheila Demers all of Constable, NY., two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Richard “Dickie” Demers of Bedford, IN., James and Joan Demers of Constable, NY., and Marlene Demers of Constable, NY., three sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandra Marlow of Bedford, IN., Margaret “Peggy” Casey of Brushton, NY., and Shelly and Timothy Fleury of North Tonawanda, NY., four grandchildren, Joseph, Ryan, and Katrina L’Heureux and Samantha Stoychoff, five great grandchildren, Savannah and Lane L’Heureux, Seth Compton, Caleigh Wienke, and Easton Stoychoff and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by his faithful dog Saira.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his adopted father, Patrick Demers, two brothers, Gerald and Arthur Demers and two brothers-in-law, Ronald Casey, Sr. and Leonard Marlow.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 - 11a.m., at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Constable Cemetery.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Westville or Constable Volunteer Fire Department or E.M.S. or to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY.
