Obituary of Germaine L. Gratton

Germaine L. Gratton, 91, of Westville, NY., passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2020, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY., with her loving family by her bedside. She had been a resident there since October 14, 2016. Born in Maxville, Ontario, Canada, July 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Eva Carrier Proulx, Sr. On October 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Myron Gratton. He predeceased her on October 7, 2012. Germaine was a homemaker, and an avid fan of Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed listening to and dancing to country music with her daughters. She also enjoyed camping and playing badminton. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, in Westville. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Myron and Tammy Gratton of Joshua Tree, CA., Lyle Gratton of Malone, NY., and Thomas Gratton of Constable, NY., two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and A. Wayne Spinner of West Chazy, NY., and Marion Pine and her fiancé Kevin Turner of Westville, NY., one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Al Newtown of Massena, NY., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Bruce Gratton, one daughter, Tammy Gratton, two brothers, Henry Proulx and Rosario Proulx, Jr., seven sisters, Irene LeBlanc, Delores Stapley, Margaret Fefee, Viola Atkinson, Theresa Proulx, Genevieve Cunningham and Beverly Fefee, and three grandsons, Joseph Savage, Mathew Savage, and Bruce Gratton, Jr. Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, in Westville, NY.
