Obituary of Garnar J. LaFave

Garnar J. LaFave, 90, of Malone, N.Y., passed away at the home of his daughter on Friday, April 9, 2021. Born in Malone, N.Y. on March 20,1931, he was the son of the late Willard and Agatha Wood LaFave. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Malone, N.Y. and received his Associates Degree from Canton Agricultural and Technical College in Canton, N.Y. He served in the United States Army from 1950-1952. Garnar worked as the store manager of the Puritan Store in Malone. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judy and Scott Poupore of Malone; his son and daughter-in-law John and Lori LaFave of Palmyra, N.Y.; his six grandchildren, Christy (Erich) LaBelle, Andrew (Haleigh) Poupore, Alison (Joshua) Poirier, Christopher (Janelle) Poupore, Michael (Kaitlin Fisher) LaFave, and Matthew LaFave; as well as eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Notre Dame Church in Malone at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Garnar's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
