Janice M. Sharland, 77, of Malone, NY., passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home, while under the loving care of her husband, Gary and Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY. Born in Malone, NY, May 29, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Hinkson Tebeau. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone, in 1960 and later from Paul Smith’s College. Janice was a bar tender at several local taverns for many years. She was also a supervisor for North Star Industries in Malone, NY, for more than fifteen years. She retired in 2017. She was a member of the Friendly Snowmobile Club and a long-time coach for the Special Olympics. She had a great passion for caring for and riding her horses along with Gary. On February 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gary Sharland at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. He survives. Along with her husband, Gary, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Nellie Sharland of New Port, TN., one brother, Lee Tebeau of Westville, NY, one grandson, Chad Sharland and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Richard, Kenneth, Howard and Harold Tebeau. A Graveside Service and burial will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone, NY. Donations may be made in her memory to the Special Olympics. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. in Malone, NY.
