Irene A. McClay, 84, of Malone, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.

Born on the Mohawk Reservation in Kahnawake, Quebec on November 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sarah Nolan Whitebean. She married the late William B. McClay and was a homemaker her whole life.

Irene had many hobbies, including playing cards, knitting, gardening, scratch off tickets, bird watching, coloring, bingo and spending time with family.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, William Micheal and Scott McClay, and a daughter Cindy Whitebean.

Survivors include a son Darrell McClay and two daughters Susan McClay and her significant other John Bower and Kimberly McClay; her grand daughter Kayla French; her son-in-law Justin Hebert and a niece Debbie McCumber and her husband Clayton.

There are no calling hours or services.
