Obituary of Lorena May Tacy

Lorena May Tacy, 98, of Plattsburgh, NY, and formerly of Malone, NY, passed away early Monday morning, September 27, 2021, at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home, in Plattsburgh, NY. She had been a resident there since July 12, 2020. Born in Rockburn, Quebec, Canada, on March 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Annie Dear Sutton. She graduated from Adirondack Commercial School in 1943. On September 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Carl Joseph “Joe” Tacy at St. Augustine’s Church, in North Bangor, NY. He predeceased her on January 13, 2021. Many years ago, Lorena was employed in the Business Office of the Malone Evening Telegram Newspaper for ten years. She later worked for many years as the Jewelry Department Manager at Ames Department Store, in Malone, until the store closed. She and Joe enjoyed travel and visited Europe and Hawaii. They wintered in Deland, FL. for more than fifteen years. He favorite times were spent with her friends and family and sewing. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Thomas Donah of Plattsburgh, NY, one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothea and Henry Travers of Westville, NY, three grandchildren, Kyle Armstrong and his wife, Kristin of Glenville, NY, Sheri Skivers and her husband, Timothy of Morrisonville, NY, and Corinne Donah of Houston, TX, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Florence Sutton. A Graveside Service and Burial will be held for Joe and Lorena Tacy privately and at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society.
