Obituary of David D. Bigness

~   David D. Bigness, Sr., 77, of Malone, NY., passed away Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY., with his loving family by his side. He had been a resident there since January 16, 2014.
   Born in Malone, NY., on March 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Harold and Delia Recore Bigness. He was a graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone, NY.
   David spent his working career serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1987, with the rank of Captain.
   In 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Marguerite Proctor. They divorced in 1969. In 1970, he was united in marriage to the former Sue Ann Tapscott. They divorced in 1992. In 2004, he was united in marriage to the former Emily Jeffery. She predeceased him in 2009.
   David was a member of the Malone American Legion Post 219. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
   Survivors include three sons, David Bigness, Jr. and his fiancé Francesca Boyea of Richmond, VA., Dennis and Lynetta Bigness and Darin Bigness all of Spokane, WA., one daughter, Jennifer Bigness of Spokane, WA., one sister and brother in law, Brenda and Richard Wrisley of Elk Hart, IN., five grandchildren, Shelby, Kelsy, Casey, Ellie and Gabrielle Bigness and two great grandchildren, Rusty and Gabby Bigness, one sister in law, Linda Bigness of Malone, NY., and one aunt, Winifred Trudell of Malone, NY.
   Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Dennis L. Bigness on March 9, 2005.
   There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 10 a.m., at St. John Bosco Church, in Malone, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
   Donations may be made in his memory to the St. Joseph’s Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD. 57325.
