Kerry Jacobs, 48 and Her life partner Thomas Smiddy, 53 of Fort Covington NY, passed away suddenly at their campsite in Tupper Lake, NY on Saturday October 23, 2021.
Kerry attended Salmon River Central School, and later achieved her bachelor’s in business. Kerry was a 20 year employee for the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, where she found her passion working for the Division of Community and Family Services as a Victim Advocate. Kerry was a dedicated worker who loved and enjoyed helping her community, and the members and families around Akwesasne, and surrounding communities.
Kerry leaves behind six children- Taylor White(Tyler M), Tyler Smiddy, Logan Smiddy(Melanie S.), Jehnsen Jacobs(Jordan F.), Braxtyn Jacobs, and Aidan Smiddy (Hannah M). Five grandchildren, Logan Smiddy JR., Willow Jacobs, Lyrik Smiddy, Rowan Fleury, and an unborn grandson that is yet to be named. Kerry also leaves many nieces and nephews- Tiara K, Kody G, Myles M, Kora M, Kori M, Eliza R, Kiera L, Rider L, Owen M, Mia M, and Arianna M. They also leave behind two great nieces- Ruby K and Mylah M.
Kerry is survived by her parents David Jacobs and Yolanda Lavigne. Three sisters and a brother- Erin(Scott) McDonald, Stacy(Kyle) Charlton, Felicia(Ron) Lavigne, and Timmy Jacobs.
Aside from her work, Kerry also enjoyed her hobby of crafts. More specifically, her cups.
When Kerry was not working on her cups, Kerry enjoyed going to Township 19 where her and Tom camped for the past 8+ years. It was Township 19 where Kerry and Tom found their camp family whom they loved and cared for so much.
Visitations will take place from 2-5p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington, N.Y.
