Obituary of Doris F. Rapuna

~Doris F. Rapuna, 83, of Malone, NY., and formerly of New Britain, CT., passed away early Wednesday morning, July 5, 2017, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY. She had been a resident there since June 2.
   Born in New Britain, CT., December 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Irene Lariviere Fournier.
   She was united in marriage to Robert Rapuna on August 2, 1952. He predeceased her on February 21, 2007.
   For more than twenty years, Doris was employed as a nurses aide at the New Britain General Hospital. She retired in 1985.
   She enjoyed making blankets and hats for the newborn babies at the New Britain General Hospital and later for the Alice Hyde Medical Center, playing solitaire on her tablet, Wii bowling, crocheting, bingo, pokeno, watching her soap operas, and spending precious time with her great grandchildren, family and friends. She was a devote catholic and a past member of the St. Mary’s Altar Rosary Society in New Britain, CT.
   Survivors include two brothers and a sister in law, Donald and Carolyn Fournier of New Britain, CT., and Leo Fournier of Charlotte, NC., one stepsister, Bernadette Ormsby of Celine, MI., four grandchildren, Scott Metzler and his wife, Brianna of Whippleville, NY., Jaime Jarvis and her husband, Adam of Constable, NY., Windy Tappin and her husband, Danny of Rocky Point, LI., and Marla Rizzo and her husband, James of Newington, CT.,  six great grandchildren, Devin Wahlert, Rian Jarvis, Austin, Shelby and Hudson Tappin and Addison Metzler, and many nieces and nephews,
   Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, David Rapuna, one daughter, Deborah Garuti, one brother, Paul Fournier and three sisters, Rita Cefaratti, Mary Awenko and Lucille Gwazda.
   There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on a date to be announced at St. Joseph’s Church, in New Britain, CT. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain, CT.
