Obituary of Frances Patnode

Frances M. Patnode, age 77, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on August 13, 2022 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Malone on January 22, 1945. After graduating high school she went on to receive an associates Degree from North Country Community College. On August 15, 1964, she was married to K. Roger Patnode at St. John Bosco Church in Malone. He survives. Frances was a Mental Health Counselor for North Star Industries in Malone. She was a member of Notre Dame Church and loved gardening, flowers, birds, music, especially Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones and Alan Jackson. She was a well known cake maker in the area in the 80’s, making many wedding cakes. She also loved the ocean, lighthouses and lobsters. She was predeceased by her brothers Bobby, Larry and Frankie Bashaw, and her sisters Theresa Oest, Dorothy Kelley and Patricia Gokey. Along with her husband, she is survived by a son Andre’ Patnode and his significant other Bryan Quenelle of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and a daughter Michelle Garneau and her significant other Chris Diaz of Syracuse, N.Y., three grandchildren Alexandra Patnode, Jacob Garneau and Hannah Garneau, as well as four great grandchildren; Jayson, Leo, Reign and Maeve. Calling hours will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon at Notre Dame Church in Malone, with burial to follow at St. John Bosco Cemetery.
