Obituary of Gary R. Grant

Gary R. Grant, age 62, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on November 11, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on August 16, 1960 in Malone, N.Y., he was the son of the late Sherman and Helen Conto Grant. Gary graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone and attended Technical School in New Hampshire. He worked as an Electronic Technician at the Office for People with Disabilities in Tupper Lake. On July 2, 2021, he married the former Sally Boyea. She survives. Other survivors include a son; Jared Grant and his companion Jennifer Raville of Malone, a daughter; Kellie (Thomas) Riley of Hastings on the Hudson, N.Y., his brother; William (Mary) Grant of Norwood, N.Y., two sisters; Dora (Alvin) Livernois of Malone and Sally (John) Johnson of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and two grandchildren; Audrey and Pherson Grant. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Grant. Gary was a member of the Malone Elks Lodge, and the Sons of the American Legion. He loved to build decks and work with wood. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He did volunteer work at the Elks, and rewired Notre Dame Church. He enjoyed helping others, often donating his time and skills. He loved his grandchildren very much. In place of donations, the family would encourage people to become an organ donor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame Church at noon on Wednesday, November 23.
