Obituary of Nancy L. Raville

95-year-old Nancy L. Raville of Malone, N.Y., passed away on November 22, 2022 at the Plattsburgh Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born in Hogansburg, N.Y. on August 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Monica “Minnie” Herne Laffin. Nancy graduated from St. Mary’s Academy, and would go on to marry Edward A. Raville in Malone on May 28, 1965. Edward predeceased her on August 9, 1992. She worked as a clerk and bookkeeper at Empsall’s Department Store, Tru-Stich and then Citizens National Bank. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Notre Dame Church, the Catholic Daughters, Ladies of the Elk’s, Malone Golf Club, Malone Badminton Club, Ladies Star Bowling League, Malone Bridge Club and loved golfing and was a great seamstress. Nancy was predeceased by her son Michael, and her brothers, John Cletus, and Henry, Mitchell and Donald Laffin. Survivors include two daughters Joy (Mark) Barney of Malone and Donna O’Brien of Big Flats, N.Y., two sisters, Mona Via of Bombay, N.Y. and Phylis Dillard, as well as five grandchildren; Shannon (Patrick) McInerney, Jennifer (Joan) Rule, Kory (Kelly) Barney, Kristin (Anthony) Cumm and Kelsey (William) Benko. There are also five great grandchildren; Paige McInerney, Jacob McInerney, William Benko, Liam Barney and Ira Cumm. Calling hours will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame Church in Malone on Friday, December 2 at noon. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
