Patricia A. (Lunan) Cartier, 84, passed away December 11, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Glen Elm, Quebec on August 28, 1938, the daughter of Lauriston and Mildred Lunan and was predeceased by her husband Raymond Cartier on April 1, 2020, after 64 years of marriage. An active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Fort Covington Senior Center, Patricia was an avid quilter spending Tuesday morning with her quilting group. She was known for her homemade bread and donuts and service to the community. She loved hosting her family and friends, providing homecooked meals and a lively card game. Patricia retired from Leroux Oil Company and lived her life with grace and faith. She was the proud mother of nine children, 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Deborah (Charles) Mays of Las Vegas, NV; Darlene (Stephen) Campbell of Theresa, NY; Daniel (Colette) Cartier of Mexico, NY; Beverly (Elmer) King of Malone, NY; Shelly (Michael) Premo of Chateauguay, NY; Susan (Steven) Lang of Chateauguay, NY; David (Judy) Cartier of Rouses Point, NY; Cathy Cartier of Shell Beach, CA and Tracey (Robert Davenport) Cartier of Las Vegas, NV and her brother James Lunan of Austin, TX. She was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Carmody, Betty Dora and brothers, William and Kenneth Lunan. A viewing will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am on Saturday, December 17th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Covington, preceding a funeral Mass at 11:00 am and followed by a burial service at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Route 37 in Fort Covington. Donations can be made to Hospice of the North Country or Ronald McDonald House. Arrangements are through Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington.
